2014 Men's Tennis All-MAAC Awards Announced

Edison, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the members of the 2014 Men’s Tennis All-MAAC teams, highlighted by Monmouth University’s Victor Pugliese, who was selected as the league’s Player of the Year while Quinnipiac University’s Kei Ezaka was named Rookie of the Year.
Marist head coach Tim Smith earned Anaconda Sports Coach of the Year honors.
Pugliese, a junior from Boulogne France, finished the regular season with an overall record of 21-4 and a perfect 6-0 mark in MAAC play. He went 15-1 at No. 1 singles. Pugliese was named to the 2014 All-MAAC First Team at No. 1 Singles and All-MAAC Second Team at No. 1 Doubles with his partner Christian Vieira.
Ezaka, a freshman from Ojai, Calif., finished the regular season with an overall record of 19-11 and 4-3 in the MAAC. He went 9-9 at No. 1 singles. Ezaka was also named MAAC Tennis Player of the Week on Mar. 19.
Smith, currently in his 16th season as the Marist men’s tennis coach and led the Red Foxes to a perfect 7-0 record in the conference and 13-4 record overall.
