Rider's Scott & Monmouth's Hammond Named Men's Basketball Weekly Award Winners

Frederick Scott averaged 22.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 70.8 percent (17-24) from the floor and 55.6 percent (5-9) from long range in the Broncs' 2-0 week. He went for 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-7 from long range, to go along with eight rebounds, two steals and an assist in leading Rider to a 96-77 win over Fairfield on Friday. Scott then added 19 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and a steal in Rider's come-from-behind victory at Manhattan on Sunday. He made 9-of-13 from the floor in his team-leading fifth double-double of the year. For the season, he's now averaging a team-best 14.8 points and 7.9 rebounds, while shooting 51.9 percent from the floor and 39.6 percent from long range.

Deion Hammond came two points shy of a career-high, finishing with 17 points on 5-9 shooting and three triples to help the Hawks to their first MAAC victory of the season against Manhattan. Hammond capped a 17-0 MU run to pull away from the Jaspers with a wing three, and contributed four rebounds on the night.
