Monmouth Men Claim Fourth MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship
Final Results
NEW YORK, NY – Monmouth University claimed the 2018 MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, after it totaled 260 points over the course of the two-day event. The Hawks have won four of the five MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship since they entered the league in 2013-14.
Monmouth’s 260 points are the most it has ever totaled in the MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship. The 260 points are the most by a men’s team in the Championship since Manhattan College tallied 267.5 points in 2003. Over the two-day span, the Hawks’ claimed nine gold medals, the most by any school over the course of the Championship. Six of the nine first place finishes came on day two of the event.
Rider University (118 points) placed second, followed by Manhattan (113 points), Iona College (98 points), and Siena College (24 points) in the top five.
Monmouth’s head coach Joe Compagni was named the 2018 MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career. Iona’s Ehab El-Sandali earned the Track Rookie of the Meet honor, and teammate Johannes Motschmann was tabbed the Track Most Outstanding Performer. Manhattan’s Eduard Winner took home the Field Rookie of the Meet award, while teammate Brenton Foster claimed the Field Most Outstanding Performer.

New Balance Armory Track and Field Center in New York, NY. The MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships returned to the Armory for the 15
