EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced its First-, Second-, and Third-Team All-MAAC teams for women’s basketball.

The league’s head coaches voted on the all-league performers and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

The All-MAAC First Team is made up of Marist’s Rebekah Hand, Victoria Rampado of Niagara, Jen Fay and Aryn McClure of Quinnipiac and Kollyns Scarbrough of Siena.

The five All-MAAC First Team members are now in contention for the 2017-18 MAAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year honor, which is selected by the league’s 11 head coaches. The 2017-18 MAAC Player of the Year will be announced at the Postseason Awards Show, which is going to be held at the Albany Capital Center on Friday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m. The Postseason Awards Show airs live on ESPN3.

Hand, the 2016-17 Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team member, moves up as a sophomore in 2017-18. The Texas native was second in the league in scoring (16.3) and led the circuit in free throw percentage (94.1). Hand was also sixth in 3-point field goal percentage. The sophomore led a Red Fox attack that was second in the league in scoring and helped Marist secure the No. 2 seed in the MAAC Championship.

Victoria Rampado of Niagara University was an unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection. The senior forward, who was Second Team All-MAAC in 2016-17, led the league in scoring (20.8 ppg) and was second in rebounding (9.8). Rampado was a five-time MAAC Player of the Week this season. The senior scored a league-high 41 points against Siena on January 6 and became the Purple Eagles all-time leading scorer.

Fay, the red-shirt junior, moves up to the First Team after making Third Team All-MAAC a season ago. The New York native led a balanced Quinnipiac attack at 12.9 points per contest. Faye finished the regular season sixth in the MAAC in rebounding (7.1) and fourth in field goal percentage (46.5). Fay picked up MAAC Player of the Week honors back on January 1 and helped the Bobcats go 18-0 in MAAC play this season, win the Regular Season Title, and secure the top seed in the MAAC Championship.

Aryn McClure, also of Quinnipiac, joins her teammate Fay on the First Team this season after making Third Team a season ago. McClure averaged 12.3 points per game and hit over 44-percent of her shots for the Bobcats. The junior dished out over three assists per game, which was sixth in the MAAC, and averaged 1.2 blocks per game, which was fourth in the league. McClure and Fay become the first pair of Bobcats to make First Team All-MAAC since the Bobcats joined the league in 2013-14.

Kollyns Scarbrough is the fifth member of the First Team All-MAAC and makes it back-to-back seasons with Saints on the First Team All-MAAC. She also becomes a four-time all-league performer with the honor this season. The senior led the Saints and was third in the league in scoring (15.8), fifth in rebounding (7.4), and led the circuit in field-goal percentage (50.6%). Scarbrough was a two-time Player of the Week this season.

The Second Team All-MAAC was composed of Fairfield’s senior forward, Samantha Cooper, Manhattan’s senior center, Kayla Grimme, Marist’s red-shirt sophomore forward, Alana Gilmer, and Rider’s guard duo of senior Kamila Hoskova and sophomore Stella Johnson.

Canisius’s junior forward Sara Hinriksdottir, Iona’s junior guard Alexis Lewis, Manhattan’s senior guard Amani Tatum, Niagara’s senior forward Kaylee Stroemple, and Quinnipiac’s senior guard Carly Fabbri make up the Third Team All-MAAC.
