Rider’s Kevin Baggett Named The Rock MAAC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year

ALBANY, NY – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced today that Rider University head men’s basketball coach Kevin Baggett has been named The Rock MAAC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year.
 
Coach Baggett guided the Broncs to an overall mark of 22-8 and 15-3 in MAAC play this season. Rider claimed the No. 1 overall seed in the MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship and a share of the Regular Season Title.
 
Baggett earns the MAAC Coach of the Year honor for the second time in his career, he previously claimed the award in 2014-15. On January 26, Baggett recorded his 100th career win and became the sixth Rider head coach to accomplish the feat.
 
Rider plays its first game of the 2018 MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship against No. 9 Saint Peter’s University in the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
 
The 2018 MAAC Basketball Championships take place March 1-5, at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY. 16 of the 20 contests are set to air exclusively on ESPN3. The first Men’s Basketball Championship Semifinal game on Sunday, March 4, airs live on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. and will re-air at 11:30 p.m. on ESPNU, tape delayed. The second Men’s Basketball Semifinal airs at 9:30 p.m., live, on ESPNU.
