Rob Monroe had a big role in helping Quinnipiac establish itself at the Division I level in its early years after making the jump from Division II. He was an All-Rookie team selection in his freshman year in the Northeast Conference in 2001-02 (the program's fourth year in Division I), and went on to earn second-team honors as a junior and first-team honors as a senior. During his final campaign at Quinnipiac, he averaged 22.7 points and 6.5 assists per game, which both still hold as the program's Division I records.
Monroe finished his career at Quinnipiac with 1,685 points, which ranks in the top 10 in school history (ninth), including second among Division I players. His 541 career assists is third all-time at Quinnipiac and first in Division I, while his 253 career three-pointers remains the school record at any level. He twice had 40-point games, including 41 against Longwood and 40 against Sacred Heart, the only Bobcat to reach that plateau since the program moved to Division I. Monroe went on to play professionally in Turkey after concluding his Quinnipiac career in 2005 and was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.
