Nationally recognized broadcaster Bill Schweizer has spent the last 20 seasons as the play-by-play announcer for Quinnipiac men’s basketball, and was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. While at Quinnipiac, he has coordinated all sports broadcasts for WQUN Radio, served as a part-time professor in the QU School of Communications, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in sports broadcasting, and was a reporter for the magazine-type show "Bobcats Unleashed” on NESN, which was nominated for three New England Emmy Awards.

A 45-year veteran of the industry, Schweizer has held numerous anchor and reporter positions in several sports and worked dozens of high-profile events. Schweizer has broadcast seven Olympiads, including the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles and the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, and served as a radio play-by-play announcer for NFL Sunday Night Games. As a baseball broadcaster, Schweizer has handled radio play-by-play for the MLB Game of the Week and served as co-host alongside former Detroit Tigers’ great Alan Trammel on Inside Pitch, a two-hour baseball talk show that aired prior to the Sunday Night Baseball Broadcast on the CBS Radio Network. He was also a play-by-play announcer for NCAA Basketball Regional action and was the voice of the 1985 Villanova Wildcats during their first NCAA National Championship season.
