Patty (Marchese) Gentile ranks in the top-10 in 10 career statistical categories for Saint Peter’s all-time, including eighth in scoring (1272 points), seventh in scoring avg. (13.7 points per game), sixth in field goals made (497), eighth in field goals attempted (1113), ninth in three-point field goals made (59), 10th in three-point field goals attempted (175), ninth in three-point scoring percentage (33.7%), ninth in free-throw percentage (74.2%), 10th in assists average (3.1 per game), and eighth in steals average (1.8 per game).
Marchese led the Peacocks to two MAAC tournament championships in 1997 and 1999, and two MAAC regular season titles during the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons. She was named to the All-MAAC First team in 1996-97, was a two-time member of the All-MAAC Second teams in 1997-98 and 1998-99, and she was selected to the All-MAAC Tournament team in 1999 after winning her second MAAC championship. During her breakout sophomore season in 1996-97 she also earned spots on the All-Met First team and All-New Jersey First team. In addition to her accolades on the court, she made the MAAC All-Academic teams her junior and senior years. Marchese was selected to the Saint Peter’s University Athletics Hall of Fame 1994.
