Mindaugas Timinskas was a four-year standout for Iona from 1993-1997 culminating in a MAAC Player of the Year accolade in 1997. He was part of back-to-back MAAC regular season championships in 1996 and 1997. Timinskas graduated as the number seven all-time scorer in Iona men's basketball history and currently ranks 11th with 1,617 points. Additionally, he ranks top 10 all-time in field goal attempts (1,276) and three-point field goals attempts (383). Throughout Timinskas career, he averaged 14.3 points, 2.3 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. He was a three-time All-MAAC selection on the all-rookie squad in 1994, second team in 1995 and first team during his player of the year campaign in 1997. He was a seven-time MAAC Player of the Week honoree, the most prolific in Iona history.
Upon his graduation from Iona, Timiniskas played professional basketball in Lithuania and Spain. He also played for the Lithuanian senior national team, earning a bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Lithuania had a chance to
upset Team USA in the semifinal round in a game where Timiniskas netted
11 points and three rebounds in the narrow two-point defeat. Timiniskas finished his basketball career a three-time
Lithuanian LKL Champion, one-time LKL finals MVP and one-time All-Star Game MVP.
