Honor Roll
Ron Kornegay will forever be remembered as an all-time great player and coach for Monmouth. The program’s all-time leading scorer with 2,526 points, Kornegay was a first team All-NAIA selection in both 1968 and 1969. Known as a lightning quick guard, in his four seasons at Monmouth, the Hawks posted a 112-17 record and advanced to the NAIA national tournament three times. His jersey number, 22, was retired in 1998. Kornegay also served as head coach of the Hawks for 10 years (1977-87) and compiled a 129-130 record. He guided the Hawks to a 25-4 mark in 1980-81, an 21-9 in 1981-82. Kornegay went on to a career as an educator and is currently Director of Athletics at Manasquan High School.
