Iona Cross Country Runners Set for NCAA Championships; Watch the Action Live Via Webcast

Edison, NJ ? The Iona men’s cross country team will compete on Monday afternoon in the NCAA Championships on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. On the women’s side, Iona junior McKayla Plank will look to improve upon her 21st place All-American finish at last year’s NCAA Championship.
Iona, currently ranked third in the country, has five consecutive Top 10 finishes at the NCAA Championship meet, including a third place finish a year ago and a fourth place finish in 2005. 2006 MAAC Champion Abraham Ng’etich, 2007 MAAC Champion Mohamed Khadraoui, Andrew Ledwith Harbert Okuti, Mathew Kiplegat, Chase Pizzonia, and Joe Parks will toe the starting line for the Gaels. Red shirt freshmen Chris Vizcaino and Josh Hibbs are the reserves.
Plank, the 2007 MAAC Champion, ran 21:14.3 a year ago and has her sights set on a top 15 finish.
