MAAC Offensive Player of the Year Brittany Bisnott Headlines 2007 All-MAAC Women's Soccer Team

EDISON, N.J. - Niagara University senior forward Brittany Bisnott has been selected as the 2007 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year by the league's head coaches and headlines this season's All-MAAC First Team.

 

Bisnott earned this award after ranking second on the MAAC scoring list during the regular season.  She has recorded 11 goals and five assists for 27 points this season for the Purple Eagles.

 

Joining Bisnott with First Team All-MAAC honors is Loyola College's Brittany Henderson, the 2007 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year.  Henderson, a sophomore goalkeeper for the Greyhounds, has made 99 saves this season in over 1580 minutes of work, giving her a league-leading .861 save percentage.  She is also second in the MAAC with her 0.91 goals against average. 

 

Fairfield's Nicole Cavallaro earned the 2007 MAAC Rookie of the Year honors.  The freshman forward led the conference in scoring during the regular season with seven goals and 16 assists for 30 points.

 

Cavallaro also earned a spot on the All-MAAC First Team, along with her teammates MT Church, Robyn Decker, Alex Caram and Ahna Johnson.  Loyola's Sarra Moller and Brynn McGrath were named to the squad.  Canisius College's Amanda Janosky, Marist College's Maria Baez and Siena College's Amy Loughridge round out the selections on the All-MAAC First Team.  

 

The All-MAAC Second Team includes Heather Cooke from Loyola, Jill Beauchamp from Manhattan College, Natalie Frost from Niagara and Katie Goodwin at back.  The midfielders consists of Stephanie Karst from Canisius, Liz Allan from Iona College, and Katie Zasly from Marist.  At forward are Casey Frobey from Fairfield, Lea Day from Loyola and Stephanie Gartley from Niagara.  Brett Maron serves as goalkeeper on the Second Team.

 

Headlining the All-Rookie team are Diane Hare from Iona, Kelly Thomas from Loyola, Lauren Tillotson from Marist and Erin Baker from Niagara at back.  The midfielders include Kasey Makowski from Canisius, Ali Werner from Iona, Lina Staropoli from Loyola and Caitlin Long from Niagara.  Cavallaro, Kelly Farrell from Loyola and Tabitha Tice from Siena are the forwards, and Allison Lane is the goalkeeper.

 

Marist head coach Elizabeth Roper was named the 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Coach of the Year.  She has led the Red Foxes to an overall record of 10-4-3, including a 7-1-1 mark in the MAAC, en route to earning the regular season title and the top seed in the 2007 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship.
