New Rochelle, NY - Kylie Rosette scored four goals to help Le Moyne rally from an 8-goal deficit and earn their second straight MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship title with a 14-13 overtime victory over Marist at Mazzella Field on the campus of Iona College. Le Moyne will host Northeast Conference champion, Monmouth University, next weekend in the NCAA Division I Play-In game.

The win gives Le Moyne their fourth MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship title in school history and this is the second time the Dolphins have claimed titles in back-to-back seasons.

Le Moyne extends their winning streak to 12 and has now won 18 straight games against MAAC foes. The Dolphins last lost to a MAAC opponent two years ago today in the 2005 MAAC Championship semifinals, falling 9-12 to Siena.

Rosette earned Most Valuable Player honors with three assists, in addition to her four goals for a total of seven points. This is the second straight year that Rosette has claimed MVP honors for the Dolphins. In the two championship games played, Rosette has scored a total of 12 points on six goals and six assists.

With 22:00 minutes left in the second half, Marist held a commanding 12-4 advantage over Le Moyne. Over the next seven minutes, the Dolphins would begin to chip away at the Marist lead with three straight goals, two by Rosette and one by Whitney Vecchio, bringing the score to a 12-7 Marist advantage.

Lindsay Rinefierd would score the next goal for Marist at the 18:19 mark to give the Red Foxes a 13-7 lead. That would be Marist’s final goal of the game. The Dolphins would go on to score six unanswered goals over the last 21:41 to force overtime. In the first overtime period, Amanda Keegan scored the game winning goal at the 1:04 mark to clinch the 14-13 overtime victory for Le Moyne.
