Fairfield Advances to 2008 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship Game

Loudonville, N.Y. ? Second-seeded Fairfield University advanced to the 2008 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship game after a 0-0 double overtime tie with third-seeded Siena College (Fairfield won 5-4 on penalty kicks) in the second semifinal game at the Saints’ Siena Turf Field.
Kelly Boudreau finished the day with three saves between the pipes for Fairfield. Siena netminder Laura Ettinger recorded nine saves for the Saints. Fairfield is now 14-4-3 entering the championship game, while Siena concluded its season at 13-2-4 overall.
Fairfield will face top-seeded Loyola College in the championship game on Sunday, November 9, at 1:00 p.m. The winner of the 2008 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship will earn an automatic bid to the 2008 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship.
