Marist Men and Women Win the 2008 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships

Baltimore, Md. - The Marist College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams claimed the league titles at the 2008 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Mangione Aquatic Center at Loyola College.
The Marist men won this year’s MAAC crown with a total of 794.50 points, while Rider University registered 778.50 points for second place. Loyola College came in third with 748.50 points, followed by Niagara University (356), Saint Peter’s College (283), Iona College (269.50), Fairfield University (228) and Canisius College (156).
On the women’s side, Marist earned the conference crown as the Red Foxes tallied 771 points, while Rider finished in second place (714.50). Loyola came in third with 710 points, followed by Iona (360), Niagara (310), Siena College (299.50), Fairfield (267), Canisius (143), Saint Peter’s (109) and Manhattan College (108).
Priscilla Modrov of Rider was named the MAAC Women’s Most Outstanding Swimmer, while teammate Amanda Burke was named the MAAC Women’s Most Outstanding Diver. The MAAC Men’s Most Outstanding Diver was Dylan Korn of Rider, and the MAAC Men’s Most Outstanding Swimmer was Josh Rosenbluth of Rider. Brian Loeffler of Loyola was named the Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year. Marist’s Melanie Bolstad was voted the Diving Coach of the Year.
