Marist College Wins 2008 MAAC Rowing Championships

West Windsor, N.J. ? The Marist College men’s and women’s rowing teams won the 2008 MAAC Rowing Championships at Mercer Lake.
In the women’s competition, Marist took top honors with 165 points. Fairfield University finished second with 135 points, followed by Iona College (118), Sacred Heart University (111), Loyola College (101) and Manhattan College (20).
On the men’s side, Marist the league title with a total of 186 points. Fairfield was the runner-up with 157 points. Loyola finished in third place (138), followed by Iona (125) and Manhattan (48).
The Marist men won seven of the eight events in which they were entered, with Fairfield earning a victory in the Varsity LW 4+. On the women’s side, the Red Foxes took first place in all seven women’s events.
Fairfield's Dave Patterson was voted the Women's Rowing Coach of the Year.
