The Manhattan College men claimed their 11th consecutive Outdoor Track & Field Championship, while the Manhattan women won their ninth title in 11 years today at the 2008 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Rider University.

The Jasper men finished with 270 points, followed by Saint Peter's with 111 points and Iona with 103. Rider finished fourth with 74 points followed by Marist with 56.

The Manhattan women collected 310.33 points. Rider was second with 164.83, followed by Marist (91), Iona (86), Saint Peter's (80), and Loyola (34.83).

Manhattan's Milos Vuckovic was named the men's Most Outstanding Performer for track events after winning the 3000-meter steeplechase (9:12.09) and the 800-meter run (1:54.28). Fellow Jasper Kosta Randjic earned Most Outstanding Performer for field events. He finished first in the long jump (6.75m), the triple jump (14.50m), and the javelin (62.56m).

Iona's Fiona Nash earned the women's Most Outstanding Performer award for track events. She placed first in the 800-meter run (2:18.79) and the 1500-meter run (4:45.25). Rider's Kelly Kajunski was selected as the Most Outstanding Performer for field events. She competed in the high jump (first), long jump (third), triple jump (sixth), hammer throw, and javelin. She also ran on the Broncs' 4x100 meter relay team that finished fourth.

One MAAC Championship record fell today as Manhattan's Marina Vojinovic recorded a 14.32 meter toss in the shot put, eclipsing the old mark of 14.11 set in 2006 by Manhattan's Jazmine Fenlator.

Manhattan's Dan Mecca was named the 2008 MAAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the year, while Marist's Phil Kelly was named the 2008 MAAC Women's Coach of the Year.
