MAAC Announces 2009 Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team

EDISON, N.J. - A total of 71 athletes comprise the 2009 MAAC Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced today.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.  Marist College led all schools with 16 members named to the team.  Iona College had 11 runners, while Loyola University Maryland added 10.  Canisius College had seven runners named to the team, and Rider University and Siena College both added six.  Fairfield University and Niagara University each had five selected, while Saint Peter's College had three runners selected.  Manhattan College rounded out the team with two student-athletes.
