Niagara Advances to MAAC Women's Soccer Semifinals with 2-1 Win Over Fairfield

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. - Sixth-seeded Niagara University (9-9-1, 4-5-0 MAAC) earned a 2-1 victory over third-seeded Fairfield University (9-9-3, 4-2-3 MAAC), 2-1, in the quarterfinals of the MAAC Women's Soccer Championship at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
The Purple Eagles got on the board first at the 25:29 mark, as Chiara Greco netted a shot off the keeper's hands after a feed from Jamie Raepple. Niagara then took at 2-0 lead after five and a half minutes later, as Ashley Mandrino capitalized on a shot from the top of the box, aided by Brittany Benthin.
The Stags cut the game to one goal with less than 10 minutes in the game as Adrienne Boyer fed the ball through the center of the box over the keeper, with the assist credited for Jasmin Corniel.
Ashleigh Bowers made four saves on goal for Niagara to improve her record to 9-9-1. Kelly Boudreau recorded four saves as well for Fairfield, closing out the season with a record of 8-8-3.
Niagara will take on seventh-seeded Marist College on Sunday, November 1 at approximately 1:30 p.m.
