Canisius Claims 1-0 Victory Over Iona in MAAC Women's Soccer Quarterfinals

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. - Fifth-seeded Canisius College earned a 1-0 victory over fourth-seeded Iona College in the quarterfinals on the MAAC Women's Soccer Championship at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
Freshman midfielder Kelly Funk scored the lone goal of the day at the 35:23 mark, heading off a free kick by senior Meghan Jones.
Caroline Robert made six saves in goal for the Golden Griffins. Suzanne Baldissard tallied eight saves between the pipes for the Gaels.
Canisius will face top-seeded Loyola University Maryland on Sunday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m.
