Niagara Takes 2-1 Overtime Victory Over Marist in MAAC Women's Soccer Semifinals

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. - Sixth-seeded Niagara University earned a 2-1 overtime victory over seventh-seeded Marist College in the semifinals of the 2009 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
The Red Foxes tallied the lone goal of the first half. Freshman forward Jackie Sabia netted her sixth goal of the season at the 8:45 mark, aided by junior forward Merrilyn Esteve.
With just three minutes left in regulation, senior midfielder Michelle Emery tied the game at 1-1 for the Purple Eagles, tapping in a pass from senior midfielder Chiara Greco to force the contest into overtime.
Greco then scored the game winner after beating two defenders to send the ball into the left side of the netting with just 1:20 remaining in the extra stanza.
Niagara will face top-seeded Loyola University on Monday, November 2, at 12:00 p.m.
