MAAC Announces 2009 Volleyball All-Academic Team

EDISON, N.J. - A total of 45 athletes comprise the 2009 MAAC Volleyball All-Academic Team, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced today.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.  Marist College led all schools with eight members named to the team.  Iona College and Niagara University both added seven members, while Canisius College had five athletes named to the team.  Fairfield University added four players, while Loyola University Maryland, Rider University, Saint Peter's College and Siena College all had three players named to the squad.  Manhattan College rounded out the team with two athletes.
