Three MAAC Players Named 2009 ECAC Division I Women's Soccer All-Stars

Cape Cod, Mass. - Three MAAC players were named as 2009 ECAC Division I Women's Soccer All-Stars.

Sylvia Kowalski from Canisius College along with Theresa Ferraina and Heather Cooke from Loyola University Maryland were named to the All-Star Second Team. Ferraina was named the 2009 MAAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, and was joined on the All-MAAC First Team by Kowalski and Cooke.

Victoria DiMartino of Boston College picked up ECAC Offensive Player of the Year honors. The freshman forward scored 14 goals and tallied five assists for 33 points. Her teammate Jillian Mastroianni earned ECAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. The sophomore goalkeeper had 13 shutouts on the season, with a .848 save percentage and a 0.45 goals against average. The teammates led the No. 7 ranked Eagles to the NCAA Elite Eight.

Northeastern University forward Devin Petta nabbed ECAC Rookie of the Year honors. Petta had 14 goals and seven assists for 35 points. Petta ranked second in the nation in scoring among freshmen during the regular season.

About the ECAC®
