Siena's Kenny Hasbrouck Named AP Honorable Mention All-American

Loudonville, N.Y. - Siena senior co-captain Kenny Hasbrouck was named to The Associated Press All-America honorable mention team late Monday, becoming the first Siena player to make AP All-America since Marc Brown in 1991 and just the third in the program's Division I history. Brown and forward Doug Poetzsch (1984) were also honorable mention selections.

Hasbrouck, the 2009 Pepsi Max MAAC Player of the Year and two-time MAAC tournament MVP, was the second-leading scorer for the Saints this season with14.6 points per game. He graduates as the school's all-time leader in career steals.

The 6-foot-3 guard from Capital Heights, Md., helped Siena win the MAAC championship and a first-round NCAA tournament game in each of the last two seasons. The Saints' season ended on March 22 with a 79-72 loss to top-seeded Louisville in the second round of the Midwest Regional in Dayton, Ohio.

According to The AP Hasbrouck joined the likes of Syracuse's Jonny Flynn, Connecticut's A.J. Price and Jeff Adrien, Michigan State's Kalin Lucas, Louisville's Earl Clark, Villanova's Dante Cunningham and Kansas' Cole Aldrich among the 46 honorable mention players.

The first team included: Blake Griffin (Oklahoma), Tyler Hansbrough (North Carolina), DeJuan Blair (Pittsburgh), James Harden (Arizona State) and Stephen Curry (Davidson).

Hasheem Thabeet (UConn), Ty Lawson (North Carolna), Luke Harangody (Notre Dame), Jodie Meeks (Kentucky) and Jerel McNeal (Marquette) were on the second team, and Terrence Will?iams (Louisville), Sherron Collins (Kansas), Toney Douglas (Florida State), Sam Young (Pittsburgh) and Gerald Henderson (Duke) were on the third team.
