Manhattan Men, Rider Women Lead After Day One of Outdoor Track Championships

Lawrenceville, NJ -The Manhattan College men and the Rider University women lead after the first day of the 2009 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track Championships in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
The Manhattan men finished the day with 65 points, followed by Rider with 28 points, Marist College with 24, Iona College with 22, and Saint Peter's College with 16.
The Rider women collected 59 points, while Manhattan posted 53 points. Loyola College is third with 27 points, Marist with 25, Iona with 20, and Saint Peter's with 11.
Iona's Siobhan Dwyer set a new MAAC Outdoor Track Championship record in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:05.49, eclipsing the old mark of 11:11.57 set last year by Manhattan's Sarah Rogers.
The 2009 MAAC Outdoor Track Championships continue tomorrow from Rider University, beginning at 11 a.m.
