MAAC Announces 2009 Baseball All-Academic Team

Trenton, N.J. ? A total of 51 athletes comprise the 2009 MAAC Baseball All-Academic Team, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced today.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Iona College led all schools with 10 members named to the team. Niagara University had eight student-athletes, while Rider University and Saint Peter’s College both had seven. Canisius College added six members, and Fairfield University and Siena College both had four players named to the squad. Three student-athletes are on the team from Manhattan College, while Marist College rounded out the team with two athletes.
