The Loyola University men and the Marist College women lead after the first day of competition at the 2010 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships, held at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola University Maryland.

The Loyola men lead with a score of 209.5. Rider University is second with 205 points, followed by Marist (167), Saint Peter's College (135), Fairfield University (110), Niagara University (78.5), Canisius College (78), Iona College (77), and Manhattan College (40).

On the women's side, Marist leads with a score of 254. Rider sits in second place with 197.5, while Siena College is third with 143 points. Loyola is fourth with 129 points, followed by Niagara (116), Iona (87), Fairfield (79), Canisius (53.5), Saint Peter's (33), and Manhattan (18).

New MAAC records were set in three events. Loyola's Brennan Morris broke the men's 500-yd. freestyle record in both the preliminaries and finals. In the preliminaries, he swam 4:31.04 to break the existing mark of 4:31.15 set last year by teammate Jacob Drannan. Morris then bested that time in the finals, swimming 4:28.74. Marist's Kate Conard posted a new mark in the women's 500-yd. freestyle with a time of 4:55.62. Rider's Amanda Burke set a new MAAC and pool record in women's 1-meter diving, posting a six dive score of 319.10.
