EDISON, N.J. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announces the 2009-2010 All-MAAC Men's Basketball Teams, selected by the MAAC's head coaches.

The first team is made up of Anthony Johnson of Fairfield University, Ryan Thompson of Rider University, and Alex Franklin, Ronald Moore and Ryan Rossiter of Siena College.  Thompson is a repeat selection from last season's First Team.  These five players are now eligible to be named the 2009-2010 Pepsi Max MAAC Player of the Year, also selected by the head coaches of the league.  The winner will be announced on Thursday, March 4 at a 5:00 p.m. awards reception at the Times Union Center, the site of the 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championships.

Johnson, a 6-foot-8, 245-pound senior center from Lake Wales, Fla., wasted no time making his presence made known this season.  Johnson is currently averaging 15.6 points for game, good for seventh place on the MAAC scoring chart, while pulling down 9.9 rebounds a night, ranking him second in the conference.  He leads the MAAC in blocks per game, recording 2.3 an outing.  Johnson has netted double-digit points in 24 games and recorded 15 double-doubles this season.

Thompson, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound senior guard from Mt. Franklin, a 6-foot-5, 226-pound senior forward from Reading, Pa., makes his first appearance on the All-MAAC First Team.  He is currently sixth in the MAAC in scoring with 15.8 points an outing and fifth in rebounds with 7.8 caroms a night for the Saints.  Franklin is shooting 56.6 percent from the field, ranking him second in the league, and 66.4 percent from the charity stripe (14th in the MAAC).  He posted double digits in 22 games and five double-doubles during the regular season.

Moore, a 6-foot, 156-pound senior guard from Conshohocken, Pa., is one of three Saints on the All-MAAC First Team.  He is leading the nation in assists, dishing out 7.7 per game for the Green and Gold.  Moore also owns a league-best 2.7 assist-to-turnover ratio, and is tied for fifth place in steals per game, averaging 1.8 takeaways per game.  Moore has netted double-digit points in six contests and three double-doubles in his final campaign for the Saints.

Rossiter, a 6-foot-9, 234-pound junior forward from Staten Island, N.Y., joins Franklin and Moore on the All-MAAC First Team.  During the regular season, he led the league in rebounds with 10.8 caroms per game and ranked 10th in the MAAC in scoring, averaging 14.3 points an outing.  Rossiter is also currently leading in the MAAC in field goal percentage (.584), sixth in free throw percentage (.770) and 12th in steals (1.4).  He had 23 double-digit scoring efforts and 18 double-doubles during the regular season.
