Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Iona College's Cecilia Leonard has been named the 2010 MAAC Water Polo Offensive Player of the Year, while Wagner College's Kelsey Rodgers earned Defensive Player of the Year honors to headline the 2010 Water Polo All-MAAC Teams, as voted by the league's head coaches.

Additionally, Iona freshman Alyssa Turza earned Rookie of the Year honors, and Wagner head coach Patrick Beemer was selected as the 2010 Anaconda Sports MAAC Coach of the Year.

Leonard, a sophomore utility player from Plantation, Fla., led the MAAC with 96 goals scored and an average of 3.00 goals per game.  The 96 goals scored outs her all-time on the MAAC scoring list.

Rodgers, a senior from Anaheim Hills, Calif., was led the league with 472 saves while owning a 8.78 goals against average and a .628 save percentage over 34 games played in goal for the Seahawks.  She made 13.78 saves per game, the most in MAAC history.  Rodgers earned Defensive Player of the Week honors five times this season.

Turza, a freshman utility player from Orland Park, Ill., ranked 13th in the conference with 46 goals on the year to help the Gaels during her rookie campaign.  She was named Rookie of the Week four times.

Beemer, in his sixth season at the helm of the Seahawks program, has led his squad to an overall record of 16-19, including a 6-4 mark in the MAAC, en route to earning the third seed in the 2010 MAAC Women's Water Polo Championship.

Earning First Team All-MAAC selections are Iona's Leonard, Mackenzie Mone and Maggie Wood; Marist College's Angela Rampton, Rachel Sunday and Samantha Swartz; Andrea Dolnay from St. Francis (N.Y.) College; Siena College's Camille Norman; and Rodgers from Wagner.
