Top Two Seeds Advance to MAAC Men's Tennis Championship Final

Flushing, NY - Marist and Fairfield, the top two seeds in the 2010 MAAC Men's Tennis Championship, will meet for the third straight year in the championship match at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Marist, the two-time defending champions and the championship's top seed, defeated Loyola, 4-0, in the semifinal. The Red Foxes picked up wins from Nicolas Pisecky at third singles, Matt Himmelsbach at fourth singles, and Marcus von Nordheim at sixth singles, as well as the doubles point. The other three singles matches were unfinished.

Fairfield outlasted Saint Peter's, 4-3, in the other semifinal. After winning the doubles point, the Stags got singles points from Joe Michalisin at second singles, Ryan Berthod at fourth singles, and Erik Kremheller at fifth singles.

The championship match is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the National Tennis Center. However, in the event of inclement weather, the championship would be moved to the Yanitelli Center on the campus of Saint Peter's College. Please check MAACSports.com for more information.
