Marist Wins Third Straight MAAC Men's Tennis Championship

Jersey City, NJ - Marist College won its third straight conference championship with a 4-0 victory over Fairfield at the 2010 MAAC Men's Tennis Championship. The match was held at the Yanitelli Center at Saint Peter's College due to inclement weather.

Marist won the doubles point behind wins from Landon Greene and Joris Van Eck at first doubles, and Nicolas Pisecky and Loic Sessagesimi at third doubles.

In singles action, Pisecky defeated Fairfield's Robert Ferrante 6-1, 6-2 at the third position. At fourth singles, Matt Himmelsbach topped Ryan Berthod 6-3, 6-0, and Greene beat Erik Kremheller 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles.

Sessagesimi was named the 2010 MAAC Men's Tennis Championship Most Outstanding Player.

As conference champion, Marist will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
