Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Second-seeded Mount St. Mary's University defeated top-seeded Siena College, 7-6, in the championship game of the 2010 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship at Marist's Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field.

With the win, Mount St. Mary's earned the league's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship.  The bracket will be announced tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET, live on ESPNU.

Brendan Harrison got the Mountaineers on the scoreboard first with his second goal of the season at the 11:40 mark of the first quarter, assisted by MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year Cody Lehrer.  The Mount's Mike Adkins then put his squad ahead, 2-0, with an unassisted goal with nine minutes left in the first stanza.  Siena's Chris Roth pulled the Saints within one, netting a pass from MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year Ryan Duggan with less than two minutes left in the quarter.  Then, with 16 seconds remaining, Drew Dunn made a diving shot on the right side of the net to put Mount St. Mary's ahead, 3-1.

The Mountaineers went ahead, 4-1, with a goal by Andrew Scalley with 12:30 remaining in the second quarter.  At the 7:04 mark, Siena's Kyle Curry recorded his 11th goal of the season to put the Saints with two (4-2).

Bryan Neufeld kicked off the Saints' scoring for the second half, netting a goal during a man-up opportunity at the 14:06 mark in the third quarter to put his squad within one goal (4-3).  But Scalley netted his second goal of the day for the Mount at the 12:17 mark to make it a two-goal game once again (5-3).  Duggan, however, added a goal for Siena with 10:02 remaining in the third stanza to make it, 5-4.  During a scramble for a loose ball, Bryant Schmidt found the back of the net at the 2:59 mark to put the Mount ahead, 6-4.

The score remained the same for most of the fourth quarter until Jordan Loftus scored his 16th goal of the season with 3:42 left in the game to pull the Saints within one (6-5).  With 1:42 remaining, John Rogener made a shot in the middle of the net to tie the game at 6-6.  Scalley took one final shot as time expired to win the game for the Mount.
