NIORT, FRANCE - Iona College women's cross country / track sophomore Marion Joly-Testault earned first place accolades at the French Junior National 3,000-meter championship.  Joly-Testault captured her country's junior national title in the event by more than 17 seconds.

Joly-Testault ran a time of 9:53.19, just shy of her outdoor personal best time set this spring at the ECAC Championships.  Her nearest competitor, Estelle Mathias, completed the race in 10:10.79.

Joly-Testault enjoyed a fine 2009-10 campaign in her first year in New Rochelle.  After finishing third overall at the 2009 MAAC Cross Country Championship, she earned MAAC titles in the indoor 3k and outdoor 5k events.   Joly-Testault also helped her native France to a fourth place finish in the 2009 Spar European Cross Country Championship Junior race with a 36th place overall result.

The five-time defending MAAC Cross Country champion Gaels open up their 2010 season on Sep. 4 at the Stony Brook Seawolves Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, NY.
