Offensive Player of the Week
Abi Cottam, Rider, Jr., F, 5-9, Leominster, England/Ludlow
Cottam tallied two goals and two assists in a 1-0-1 week for the Broncs. Against first-place Marist, she scored 25 seconds into the game for a 1-0 lead. Cottam scored again with 19 seconds left in first half to give her squad a 2-1 lead. She also had assists on two second-half goals in Rider's 5-1 victory over Marist. Cottam had four of Rider's 17 shots in the 0-0 tie with defending champion Siena. Cottam currently leads the MAAC in goals (13), assists (10) and points (36).
Defensive Player of the Week
Gabrielle Wilson, Niagara, Sr., GK, 5-6, Tonawanda, N.Y./Holy Angels Academy
Wilson helped Niagara to win its only game of the week, a 1-0 win over cross-town rival Canisius on Saturday night. Wilson made three saves while serving as the defensive rock for the Purple Eagles. Wilson now has three shutouts on the season, along with a 1.51 goals-against average.
Rookie of the Week
Danielle Singson, Rider, Fr., GK, 5-8, Deer Park, NY/St. Anthony's
In two games this past week, Singson played 200 minutes, and made 16 saves and allowed just one goal. She recorded a shutout against defending champion Siena, making seven saves. Singson made a career-high nine saves in Rider's 5-1 victory over Marist.
