Baltimore, Md. - Loyola University Maryland junior forward Nichole Schiro has been selected as the 2011 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year by the league's head coaches and headlines this season's All-MAAC First Team.
Schiro earned this award after finishing third in the MAAC in scoring during the regular season with 11 goals and four assists for 26 points for the Greyhounds. In the final game of the regular season for the Greyhounds, she touched the ball into the net in the 97th minute to give her squad a 1-0 overtime victory over Saint Peter's, sending her and her teammates into the postseason.
