Florida, Loyola Men's Swimming and Diving

Tony Florida helped the Greyhounds' swimming and diving team to
three victories over conference foes Iona, Marist and Saint Peter's in the
team's MAAC opener on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3. Florida was a member of
the 400-yard medley relay that was victorious, finishing with a time of
3:28.88. He was also on the 800-yard freestyle relay that took first in
6:59.12. Florida has also been on two other winning relay teams for Loyola this
season. At the Thomas Murphy Invitational, he helped the 800-yard freestyle
team (6:57.98) and 400-yard freestyle squad (3:09.67) to victory. Prior to the
start of the final event at the meet, Florida was named the recipient of the
2011 Thomas Murphy Scholarship. The award, named in memory of the former Loyola
swimming and diving coach, is given yearly to a member of the team who exhibits
excellence in academics and character.
Jynae Judson Saint Peter's Women's Basketball
Sr., Forward - Newark, NJ
Jynae Judson has led the Peahens in scoring in all
five games that she has played in. Averaging team highs in both points (17.8)
and rebounds (7.6) per game, the Newark, NJ native came off the bench to
contribute 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists against Akron
(12/3/11) in her first game back. Last Wednesday, Judson finished with a season/game-high
25 points and 15 rebounds, in the team's near victory over NJIT, that resulted
in a 66-59 loss in overtime. Judson is a Preseason MAAC Third Team Selection,
after receiving Second Team All-MAAC Conference honors last year.
