Edison, NJ - Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week honors were awarded to William Griffin of Marist College and Andrea Nyback of Manhattan College.

Griffin turned in a record-breaking performance running against a tough field of competitors from across the nation at the 53rd annual Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) Relays in Walnut, California,. He became the first Marist College track athlete in school history to break the 30-minute barrier for the 10,000-meter run with his time of 29:45.81. With his eighth place finish he easily qualifies for the IC4A Championships, and has a strong chance of earning a berth at the NCAA East Regional next month.

Nyback set a school record in the heptathlon at the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships despite miserable conditions on Saturday.  She finished with 4856 points, breaking the 13-year-old mark by almost 400 points, to easily win the competition and qualify for the ECAC Championships.  Nyback finished first in five of the seven events and second in another.

The 2011 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted May 7-8 at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.
