MAAC Announces 2011-12 Championship Sites

Edison, N.J. - The MAAC has announced its championship sites for the 2011-12 academic year. The sites are chosen by the MAAC Committee on Athletic Administration.

The Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships will be back at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y. Men's Soccer takes its turn at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, in Orlando, Fla. with all 10 schools qualifying for the championship. Saint Peter's College will host the Volleyball Championship for the first time ever at the Yanitelli Center.

The 2012 Men's & Women's Basketball Championships will be held at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. for the first year of a three-year contract until 2014. All-session tickets go on sale Tuesday, October 25th on ticketmaster.com.

The weekend of April 28th will see schools compete for eight MAAC Championships. Men's & Women's Tennis moves to a new site for the first time since 2001 and will be held at Mercer County Park, while the Men's & Women's Rowing Championships will remain at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, NJ. Both championships will be held a week later than they have been in the past. Golf will be back at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Canisius College will host women's lacrosse at the Demske Sports Complex and water polo will be back in the McCann Natatorium at Marist College.

The Baseball Championship will be held at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy, N.Y. and hosted by Siena College.
