Junior Brianna Dixion averaged
3.79 kills on .307 hitting and 4.04 points for the Stags at the Hofstra
Invitational while collecting 10 digs and seven total blocks. She also had a
perfect reception percentage, not committing an error in 38 chances in four
matches. She had nine kills against both Princeton and Hofstra and shined in
Fairfield's victories against NJIT and St. Francis (NY). Against NJIT, Dixion
tallied 20 kills, one shy of a career high, on .351 hitting while putting up
three total blocks. Against St. Francis, she notched 15 kills, four digs, and
two blocks to round out the week.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sam Morgan, Niagara, Sr., Libero, 5-9, Cincinnati,
Ohio/Colerain
Senior libero Sam Morgan set the program all-time digs mark
as Niagara went 3-2 in five matches last week. Morgan set the career record
against UTEP with 25 digs in the first match of the Cornell Tournament on
Friday, breaking Micole Daluisio ('05) total of 1,793. Morgan had a total of 98
digs in five games last week, including 76 during the four-game tournament,
while having match-highs in digs in all four games en route to be being named
to the all-tournament team.
Rookie of the Week

Warren, Iona, Fr., Middle Blocker, 6-0, Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Los Osos
Catrina
Warren continued her torrid start to her career in New Rochelle, leading the
Gaels with a .476 hitting percentage in 12 sets played this weekend at the
Stony Brook Holiday Inn Express Tournament.
Warren contributed 24 kills (2.0 k/s) and 12 blocks (1.0 b/s). She hit .600 with 10 kills in 15 attempts
(one error) vs. Rhode Island with a team best five blocks and posted a .500
hitting percentage in the win over Kent State.
