Rider Hosts Saint Peter's on Thursday on ESPN3

Edison, N.J. - The next matchup on the 2011-12 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule features Rider University hosting Saint Peter's College on Thursday, January 26. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Gymnasium, and the National MAAC Game of the Week will air live on ESPN3.

Saint Peter's, 4-16 overall and 3-6 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Chris Prescott, who is contributing 12.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, and junior forward Darius Conley, who is posting 11.4 points and 8.1 rebounds an outing for the Peacocks.

Rider, 7-14 overall and 4-5 in the MAAC, is led by sophomore forward Daniel Stewart, who is registering 12.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, and senior forward Brandon Penn, who is averaging 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds an outing for the Broncs.

Rider won the first meeting this season with a 72-58 victory over Saint Peter's on Jan. 8 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Penn scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Rider. The Broncs shot 49 percent from the field (25-of-51) while holding the Peacocks to just 36.1 percent shooting (22-of-61). Rider, which led 35-29 at halftime, was up 49-48 with 11:29 remaining. The Broncs then went on an 11-2 run to go up 60-50 on Anthony Myles' layup, following a steal by teammate Jonathon Thompson. The Broncs pushed their lead to as many as 16, 72-56, on Stewart's layup with 1:15 to play. Myles finished with 17 points, while Stewart and Jeff Jones added 13 each for Rider. Lamin Fulton paced the Peacocks with 19 points, and Markese Tucker had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
