Fairfield Hosts MAAC Basketball Doubleheader Friday

Edison, N.J. - The Webster Bank Arena, the home of Fairfield University basketball, is the site for the next MAAC men's and women's basketball doubleheader to air this season on the ESPN platforms on Friday, January 27.
The women's game between Manhattan College and Fairfield will take place at 4:00 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN3.
Manhattan, 9-10 overall and 3-4 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Lindsey Loutsenhizer, who is registering 12.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, and sophomore guard/forward Monica Roeder, who is averaging 10.6 points and 4.9 caroms a night for the Lady Jaspers. Fairfield, 14-5 overall and 7-1 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Taryn Johnson, who is contributing 13.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, and senior guard Desiree Pina, who is posting 11.5 points and 4.1 rebounds an outing for the Stags.
The men's contest between Iona College and Fairfield will start at 7:00 p.m., and air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.
Iona, 15-5 overall and 7-2 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Mike Glover, who is averaging a league-best 19.1 points along with 8.8 rebounds per game, as well as junior guard Lamont Jones, who is contributing 15.3 points and 3.5 assists an outing for the Gaels. Fairfield, 10-9 overall and 5-3 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Rakim Sanders, who is averaging 15.9 points and 8.2 rebounds an outing, and junior guard Derek Needham, who is netting 11.0 points and dishing out 3.5 assists a night for the Stags.
