Daly, Conard, Molloy and Tobias Honored With Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ - Fairfield University's Connor Daly was named the
MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Marist College's Kate Conard earned the
award on the women's side. Marist's Sean Molloy was chosen as the Men's Diver
of the Week, and Marist's Kimberly Tobias was selected as the Women's Diver of
the Week.
Connor Daly
won three individual events and one relay event in Fairfield's meet against
MAAC foe Marist College on Saturday. Daly began the day by swimming the third
leg of the 200-yard medley relay which touched in a winning time of 1:40.44. He touched first in both butterfly events, winning
the 200 in a time of 1:57.82, six seconds ahead of second place and winning the
100 in a final time of 55.14. Daly also touched first in the 400
individual medley, finishing in a time of 4:15.96.
In
Marist's home meet versus Fairfield on Saturday, Conard won the 200-yd
butterfly and 200-yd backstroke. She scorched the field in the butterfly with a
6.48 second victory at 2:08.89. She improved her margin of victory in the
200-yd backstroke with a 9.26 advantage with her final time of 2:04.06.
Conard's mark in the backstroke event was a career-best and the third fastest
all-time in program history.
Molloy lead a strong showing by Marist divers in
Saturday's dual meet versus Fairfield. Led by a 30-point win in the three-meter
board with a score of 296.40 total, the junior swept both of the diving events.
In the one-meter board, Molloy won with 274.95 points.
On
Saturday, in a home duel with Fairfield, Tobias swept the diving events with
back-to-back strong outings. Her day began with a victory in the one-meter
board at 250.12 points and capped it with a 28.57 point victory in the three-meter
board at 263.02.
The 2013 MAAC Men's and
Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held February 14-16 at the
Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
