Molloy, Orr, Hiller and Tobias Earn Weekly Swimming and Diving Awards

- Rider University's Brian Molloy was named the MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week,
while Marist College's Bonnie Orr earned the award on the women's side. Rider's
Trevor Hiller was chosen as the Men's Diver of the Week, and Marist's Kimberly
Tobias was selected for the second week in a row as the Women's Diver of the
Week.
Molloy won
two individual events and one relay in Rider's MAAC win at Marist on Saturday. He
began the day by anchoring the 200 medley relay, which won with a time of
1:35.85. He touched first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a final time of 9:57.98.
The senior's third win came when he swam the 500-yard freestyle with a
finishing time of 4:41.58.
In Marist's
home meet against Rider on Saturday, Orr was the top performer for Red Foxes' with
three individual wins, all of which came with season-best times. Her day began
with a decisive win in the 1000-yd freestyle with a time of 10:33.22. With just
over 10 minutes to recuperate after her initial distance win, Orr was back in
the pool and victorious again in the 200-yd freestyle finishing with a final
time of 1:55.55. Her third win came in the 500-yd freestyle with a time of
5:11.59.
Hiller won
the one-meter diving event in Rider's in at Marist with a score of 328.57. He scored
277.42 on the three-meter board.
On Saturday, Tobias
led a strong showing by the Red Foxes' diving team. Her day began with a victory
in the one-meter board with a score of 268.87 and capped it with a win in the
three-meter board with a score of 279.75.
The 2013
MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held
February 14-16 at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
