Marist Advances with 2-0 Victory over Iona in Women's Soccer Semi

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Top-seeded Marist
College posted a 2-0 victory over fourth-seeded Iona College in the second
semifinal of the 2012 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship at Marist's Tenney
Stadium at Leonidoff Field.
Marist's
Amanda Epstein posted the first goal of the night in the 18th minute,
converting a cross from the left wing by Samantha Panzner.
The
Red Foxes added one more tally with just over five minutes left in regulation
as Melanie Rigo netted a pass from Jackie Frey following a throw-in by Rycke Guiney.
Marist,
making its second consecutive appearance in the MAAC championship game and
fourth overall, will face third-seeded Loyola University Maryland on Sunday,
Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. The winner of Sunday's
match will earn the MAAC's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's
Soccer Championship.
