Molloy, Conard, Baker and Tobias Earn Weekly Swimming and Diving Awards

- Rider University's Brian Molloy was named the MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week,
while Marist College's Kate Conard earned the award on the women's side. Marist's
Jacob Baker was chosen as the Men's Diver of the Week, and Marist's Kimberly
Tobias was selected as the Women's Diver of the Week.
At
the three-day Brown Invite, Molloy swam against some of the top regional
competition in the East. He finished third in the 500 free with a life-time
best 4:30.07 and fourth in the 100 free with a time of 45.42. Molloy swam the 200
free finishing in seventh place with a final time of 1:40.15 after a posting a time
of 1:39.56 in the preliminaries. He also swam he led off the 400 free relay
that was seventh finishing in 3:04.13 and the 800 free relay that was seventh
finishing in 6:49.58. Molloy anchored the 400 medley relay that touched in 14th
place with a final time of 3:30.14.
At
the H20unds Invitational, Conard led the Red Foxes to victories in seven
events, three of which were individual races and four in relays. Individually,
the senior won the 500-yd freestyle with a time of 4:57.56, 8.13 seconds clear
of second place and the 1650-yd freestyle at 17:00.09, over 42 seconds ahead of
the field. Conard set a school record in the 400-yd IM with a time of 4:25.84;
smashing the old mark by 5.39 seconds. In relay action, she helped Marist earn
four more victories in the 400- and 800-yd freestyle and 200- and 400-yd medley
races.
Baker
swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the H20unds Invitational. In
1-meter action, he earned a 43.5-point victory with a six dive total of 243.10
points. On the 3-meter board, he held off the second place finisher by 2.25
points and finished with a total score of 262.55
In action this past
weekend in Baltimore at the H20unds Invitational, Tobias cruised to a sweep of
the boards versus competitors from Loyola and Iona. In the 1-meter board, the
sophomore earned 245.70 points for a 26.75-point victory, while scoring 227.00
in her 3-meter board win.
The 2013
MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held
February 14-16 at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
