Drew Pettit, Canisius Baseball
Senior, 3B - Fonthill, Ontario
Senior Drew Pettit of the Canisius College
baseball team was recently named to the 2012 All-MAAC Preseason Team in the
utility spot. In 2011, Pettit was a 2011 CoSIDA Capital One Academic
All-American selection. The senior hit .423 in conference play last season,
leading the team and ranking third in the MAAC with 70 hits overall. On the
season, Pettit hit .345 with six home runs and 40 RBIs, posting a .969 fielding
percentage during the final 38 games. Currently pursuing his Master of Business
Administration, the senior holds an overall GPA of 3.920.
Corielle
Yarde, Marist Women's Basketball
Sr., Guard - Town/State
Yarde has led the Red Foxes on the court in several statistical
categories since the first game of the season. The MAAC Preseason Player of the
Year leads the team in scoring (14.6 PPG), rebounding (6.3 RPG) and assists
(4.1 APG). Three times this year she has been named the MAAC Player of the Week
for her performances and was named to the All-MAAC First Team as a junior and
Second Team as a sophomore. A two-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team,
Yarde was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team earlier this
month.
