MAAC Player of the Week
Jessika-Jo Sandrini, Siena, So., P/OF, 5-6, Adna, Wash./Adna

Sandrini starred in four games at UMBC's Dawg Pound Invitational this past weekend. The sophomore hit .583 (7-for-12), with a home run, five RBI and three runs scored. Additionally, she posted a .615 on-base percentage and an .833 slugging percentage. In the circle, Sandrini went 1-1 in two starts, with 13 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.


MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Rachael Matreale, Rider, Sr., RHP, 5-10, Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown

Matreale went 1-0 last week and held the opposition to a .089 batting average. In 14 innings, she allowed no earned runs and only four hits while recording 20 strikeouts. Against Drexel in the 2012 home opener, Matreale recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts and allowed only two hits as Rider won, 2-0. At the Rebel Spring Games in Florida, she recorded nine strikeouts and two unearned runs as the Broncs tied Utah Valley 2-2 in a game called by rain after seven innings.


MAAC Rookie of the Week
Ambur Farmer, Niagara, Fr., OF, 5-4, Twinsburg, Ohio

Farmer had a huge weekend for Niagara, helping the Purple Eagles go 3-1. In four games, she went 7-for-15 (.467) with three RBIs, five runs and two home runs. Farmer went 6-for-8 on Saturday against Seton Hall and Coppin State, earning three hits in both games. The Ohio native launched her first two career home runs in the win over Seton Hall.
