Manhattan Sweeps Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

College's Anastas Papazov and Cara Rostant were named the MAAC Men's and
Women's Outdoor Track & Field Performers of the Week, respectively.
Papazov
was the top collegian in the hammer throw at the Baldy Castillo Invitational on
March 16. With a mark of 64.63 meters (212 feet), the fifth best throw in the
NCAA so far this year, Papazov moved into eighth place on Manhattan's all-time
list in the event. He also qualified for
the IC4A Championships and NCAA East Regional, as well as the next edition of
the European Under-23 Championships.
Rostant
ran a personal-best time of 24.27 seconds in the 200 meters at the Baldy
Castillo Invitational on March 17. With that time, she qualified for the ECAC
Championships in the event. Rostant also ran the third leg on the Japers' 4x100
meter relay squad that posted a 47.26.
The 2012
MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held Saturday, May 5
and Sunday, May 6 on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
