MAAC Player of the Week
Alyssa Maiese, Iona, R-Sr., RHP/UT, 5-8, Sewell, N.J./Indiana Univ.

Maiese hit .400 (6-15) with one home run and eight runs batted in this past weekend, as the Gaels went 3-2 in Baltimore. She also posted an on base percentage of .438 and a slugging percentage of .800. Maiese opened up the weekend with a 1-2 effort and two runs batted in against James Madison. Against Princeton, she went 1-4 with a double and a run batted in and scored once. Against UMBC on Sunday, Maiese went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Against James Madison, she went 2-3 with a home run and a double with four runs batted in and one run scored.


MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Rachael Matreale, Rider, Sr., P, 5-10, Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown

Matreale threw 13 innings, recording 13 strikeouts while going 1-1 as Rider competed at the Patriot Classic hosted by George Mason. She shutout the host Patriots with a two-hitter in Rider's 5-0 win and recorded seven strikeouts in a 2-0 loss to Cornell. For the week, Matreale had an earned run average of 1.08.


MAAC Rookie of the Week
Allysen Breeden, Rider, Fr., C/3B, 5-3, Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown

Breeden continued her strong play, batting .636 for the week as the Broncs won one of four at the Patriot Classic hosted by George Mason. She scored three times and had seven RBI while hitting her first collegiate home run. In the field, Breeden handled eight chances without an error. Currently on a five-game hitting streak, Breeden leads Rider with a .458 batting average.
