Jessika-Jo Sandrini, Siena, So., P/OF, Adna, Wash./Adna
Sandrini hit .520 (13-for-25), with four home runs, 12 RBI, and six runs scored in eight games played. During Siena's current five-game winning streak, she has hit .647 (11-for-17), and spurred an offense that has outscored Colgate, Manhattan and Saint Peter's, 42-4. Additionally, Sandrini posted a .571 on-base percentage, slugged 1.040, and also had a strong week in the circle. She went 2-2 with a 1.68 ERA, and struck out 19 hitters in 25 innings pitched while allowing just 21 hits.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Alyssa Maiese, Iona, R-Sr., RHP, 5-8, Sewell, N.J./Indiana Univ.
Maiese went 2-2 in the circle, allowing five earned runs in 25 innings of work for an earned run average of 1.40. Against Sacred Heart, Maiese earned the win after allowing one unearned run with 10 strikeouts in a 9-1 Gaels win. Against FDU, Maiese allowed four earned runs in seven innings. Against Niagara, Maiese allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out 15 in a 3-0 Iona win. Against Canisius, Maiese wrapped up the week with a six inning, four hit performance, allowing one earned run.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Allysen Breeden, Rider, Fr., DH/C, 5-3, Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown
Breeden hit .364 with two multiple hit games this past week as Rider split with Delaware and Marist. She homered against the Blue Hens, then walked and scored twice against Marist in game two of the MAAC doubleheader after going two for four with a walk in the opening game. Her on-base percentage was .533 and she slugged .636.
